Bank in Jumeirah
In 2006 Dubai Bank decided to broaden its portfolio from premium banking with only one branch at Dubai World Trade Centre to a branch network serving established and new premium residential areas. Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, Dubai Bank Jumeirah is strategically placed in a neighbourhood that consists of high net worth Emiratis and expatriates.
Focussed on architecture rather than neon signage the building forms part of the bank’s corporate identity with this presence on Dubai’s’ favourite boulevard. It opens its front facade with a triple storey glazing that encloses the internal atrium as a transition zone –open to public- with art exhibitions complementing the 24hr banking services. The displayed transparency is protected from the scorching desert sun by a trapezoid steel trellis elevated above the glass roof with concrete columns penetrating the triple volume public space skywards. The side and back facades pay tribute to the residential environment with stone cladding and openings of smaller scale.
All regular customer care facilities and tellers are located on ground floor accessed through the public atrium. Clearly marking the banks local background and Islamic banking culture a prayer room protrudes through the front facade following the Qibla direction pointing towards Mecca.
A stair and lift core pushed before the front facade connects via bridges to the royal banking services and leasable office spaces on the mezzanine level and on 1st Floor.
